My friend Tien asked me to sing at this weekend’s Relay for Life in Charlottesville, and of course I said yes.  Many of my friends from UVA and OYFA are doing the relay, and I want to support them.  But more importantly, I’ll be dedicating my performance in memory of Victoria Enmon, who passed away from Leukemia this January.I found out about Victoria, strangely enough, through a video game forum I used to frequent.  Victoria had just gone through a round of chemo, and she had lots of time to kill while she was recovering in the hospital.  She had JUST gotten a Nintendo DS, and she absolutely loved it.  Problem was, she didn’t have many games to play.  A friend of hers made a post in the forums to ask if we had any extra games we could donate.  Many of us decided to chip in, and we sent her about 40 different games total.  I remember sending her Star Fox and Brain Age.  She loved receiving so many games, and I’ve been following her story ever since. After years of fighting and surviving multiple instances of her cancer, Victoria passed away on January 21st.  She had such incredible strength, but I think it was just her time to be in heaven.  She was quite the amazing young girl.  She contributed to many charities and radiothons, and Relay for Life was her favorite event.  I greatly admire her courage and attitute in life, and that’s why I decided this year to donate as much as I could to Relay, and to dedicate my performance to her.Unfortunately I got sick again this week, but I’m hoping and praying that I get better in time for this weekend’s event.  If you are doing Relay for Life in Charlottesville this year, I will be performing during “pop hour”, right around midnight.I do not have a donation page for Relay, as I am only a performer, but I have many friends who do.  My friend John Pineda will be walking and running for the whole 24 hours (a herculean feat if there ever was one) in honor of his mother.  So if you can, please donate to his Relay for Life page.  Any amount would be great — a little bit from a lot of people will really go a long way. Thanks, all.
